Lock’em Or Leave’em: Our Predictions For NFL Week 11

Above: Carolina Panthers v San Francisco 49ers on November 10th in San Francisco, California

The hardest thing to pick this weekend may be which games to watch as Week 11 brings us some real heavy hitters going head-to-head. As tough as it’s going to be, our NFL analyst and sports bettor, Jeff Bjarnarson, is digging in on three teams to lock down, and three games to leave alone in NFL’s Week 11.

Lock’em

The undefeated Chiefs head to Denver to take on the 8-1 Bronco’s. Denver is 10-2 in its last 12 games when playing at home against Kansas City. Kansas is undefeated this year. The Bronco’s haven’t lost a game at home this season and the Chiefs haven’t lost a game this season. Does it seem like this is a Leave’em game? NOPE! KC is getting out-gained and out-played this season by an average 10 yards per game, while out-rushing their opponents by a yard per game. On the other hand, Denver is beating opponents by an average of 84 yards-per-game, and out-rushing them by 18. Take Denver and the OVER and watch your wallet smile at you!

It’s probably bad luck to take the Saints for another week, and against San Fran it almost sounds like a bad idea….but Lock in the Saints to take down the 49’ers back home in the Thunderdome!!! (I mean, the Mercedes-Benz Superdome…) San Francisco is 1-4 in its last 5 games when playing on the road against New Orleans; New Orleans is unbeaten at home this season; and the fans make it extremely difficult on teams visiting the The Big Easy. With Vernon Davis’ status uncertain and Jimmy Graham listed as probable, Lock in the Saints to grab the W this weekend.

The Seahawks (9-1) welcome the Vikings (2-7) to CenturyLink Field. This one’s too easy. Minnesota’s Overall Scoring (13th) vs Seattle’s Overall Defense (3rd). Add to that Minnesota’s 22nd ranked Road Passing. And finally, former Viking, Percy Harvin making his debut this weekend. All this to say, Lock DOWN the Russell Wilson and the Seahawks to destroy the Vikes!

Leave’em

So the Panthers are legit, not letting Kaepernick score a single touchdown last weekend in Candlestick Field. Now, while it’s sure to be a great game, I ain’t touching the Patriots (7-2) visiting Carolina (6-3) on the Monday Nighter! Brady’s boys are 6-2 in the last 8 games on the road…Cam Newton and the Panthers are 5-1 in its last 6 games at home….sorry gang…can’t touch this! (Although, a small play on the OVER is probably where I’d go.)

I know everybody’s talking about Houston’s non-interception throwin’ Case Keenum…but I just don’t don’t know if this youngster can defeat the visiting Raiders this weekend. How did a guy who broke the NCAA’s total passing yards, touchdowns, AND completions in Houston’s back yard, not get drafted?! Oakland’s got the better record here with 3-6…but I’m not convinced. Another play on the OVER is where my money will be!

Finally, Tampa is a small home dog, but after coming off a short week, are they still feeling the effects of their first-season Win? Or are they ready to crumble to 1-9? Atlanta (2-7) is just terrible this year, giving up 30 pts or more in 4 of their last 6 games. It’s the Battle of the Brutals and AmongMen is urging you to leave this game in the locker-room, where the players should stay as well.

Got a lock? Leave it in the comments below. Totally against our predictions? We’d love to hear from you! May you be among the winners this weekend!
