Adidas To Re-Release The “OG” NMD

Adidas is sort of a big deal right now. With a number of high-profile collaborations under their belt, the sportswear giant is dominating sneaker culture in 2016. The brand has created a demand for Yeezys, Stan Smiths, and recently, the Pharrell Williams joints, Hu. Now, perhaps their most popular (and attainable) kicks, the NMDs, are getting a much needed re-release. The “OG” NMD colourway, will be available for purchase on December 15. The shoe will feature the trusty black primeknit, and of course, the blue and red bumpers.

When it launched back in December of last year, the shoe quickly became one of the most popular street options on the market. The edition’s rise, could be compared to that of the similarly prominent, Nike Roshe, which offered an equally accessible and clean look. The trend of boost soles also continues, as the “OG” NMDs will once again have the same white, cushiony base.

While you still have to wait more than two months to cop the colourway, it may be worth it. The original iteration is selling on Ebay for upwards of $1000. That’s a whole lot more than the $180 they’ll be going for in December. If you still can’t wait that long, there are currently a whole bunch of NMD variations on store shelves. Check out the crisp looking Pharrell NMDs, along with others, on Adidas Canada’s official website. If you’re planning on buying the original version, be prepared to scoop them up quickly, as retailers will likely sell out fast.
