4. Chrysler M4S PPG Turbo Interceptor
This concept supercar was first shown at the 1981 Indy Car World Series as the official pace car, wooing crowds with its sleek futuristic lines and curves. After vanishing from public view, the M4S made a ghostly appearance as an otherworldly machine in the 1986 film, “The Wraith”, seeking revenge against a local street-racing gang. But the M4S went beyond just show – it sported a mid-engine, 440-horsepower, twin-turbo 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox, capable of launching the car to 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds. With only four models reportedly in existence, it’s a shame the car never made it into production.
