Chevrolet Impala SS (1994 – 1996)
Essentially a re-badged copy of the police-issue Chevy Caprice (known as the 9C1) the Impala SS was a cunning sleeper, thanks to its reserved bad-boy looks, and its Corvette-derived, 280-horsepower 5.7-litre V8. Though the 9C1 Impala SS died rather young, its popularity never really diminished, which means nowadays a working-condition example can be found for well under $15K.
