2. 1973 Ford XB Falcon ‘GT351’ “Pursuit Special”

Appeared in: Mad Max (1979), Road Warrior (1981)

Arguably, the coolest police car ever. Set in a futuristic Australian dystopia, this custom-built XB Falcon becomes the hot-rodded steed of police officer Max “Mad Max” Rockatansky, sporting jet-black paint, quad exhausts, a massive supercharger (which can be switched on and off) and, of course, blue lights and siren. Entirely by chance and tragedy, the Pursuit Special becomes an iconic instrument of vengeance and justice, when the local biker gang decide to make things personal with Max. Besides heart-throbbing road chases and vehicular madness, the Pursuit Special’s electric and mystifying V8 noise and edgy appearance made it one of the coolest hero-rods ever.
