7. 1981 Delorean DMC-12

Appeared in: Back to the Future Trilogy

The Delorean may have been a disappointment to investors, but on the big screen, it became an instant legend. Its polished, stainless-steel body and gull-wing doors made it the perfect candidate as Doc Brown’s sleek and futuristic Time Machine. The film’s most memorable moments of the Delorean were of its jumps into time warp, leaving behind a contrail of fire, however it later gains the power of flight, thanks to Doc’s upgrade in year 2015 – so there’s something to look forward to! Little known fact: the DMC-12’s stock “PRV” V6 motor was so slow, the Deloreans used in the film’s stunt sequences were actually fitted with Porsche powerplants. Otherwise, 88 miles per hour might’ve been a while.
