If Pokémon Go’s 800 million downloads worldwide let you know one thing, it’s that the popular anime franchise is not just for kids anymore. Today marked the Japanese property’s 23rd anniversary and to celebrate, Nintendo made a very special announcement. After months of anticipation, the game giant debuted a brand new trailer for the next chapter in Pokémon gaming.

Entitled Pokémon Sword and Shield, the latest edition of the handheld pocket monster saga sees players thrust into the brand new region of Galar. If you happen to be a hardcore fan, you’ll know that this also means brand new creatures will be ready for catching and subsequent battling in the grassy open fields.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will hit the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year and will mark the second era of Pokémon following last year’s well received Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. Of course, as this forthcoming duo of games will be a completely unseen adventure, the hype is at an all-time high.

According to a brand new trailer released today, Sword and Shield will allow players to select one of three new starter Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. Grookey will be a grass type Pokémon, Scorbunny’s a firey Rabbit, and Sobble is a sneaky water-type. You can check out the teaser above to see for yourself.
