During the winter months of the year plaid is to a Canadian’s wardrobe like maple syrup is to pancakes. It’s hard to imagine one existing without the other. While we appreciate the symbol of Canadian style as much as anyone else, the traditional red and black print can sometimes leave you looking like Paul Bunyan.

Good news gents, this season the print comes in so many different shades and versions that will make you nod your head. Here are 10 stylish and sophisticated plaid pieces you’ll want to pick up this winter.
