4. 1969 Dodge Charger ‘General Lee’

Appeared in: Dukes of Hazard (TV series, 1979 – 1985, 2005 film)

With its drivers often yelling “yeeeehawww” at every jump, the ‘General Lee’ Charger became the most fabled hot-rod of the American South – in film, that is. At the helm of Luke and Bo Duke, the General is Boss Hogg’s (bad guy, drives a pimped-out Caddie) worst nightmare, as it is often beyond reach of his evil henchmen. Despite looking the same for the most part (orange paint, with “O1”, “General Lee” and Confederate flag decals) the General Lee has had different incarnations under the sheet metal – from different engines, suspension, or even different model years (in the 2005 film, the studio used a 1970 Charger for one of the jumps).
