Our Five Favourite Fictional Girlfriends

Our Five Favourite Fictional Girlfriends

These unattainable women of television have teased and tempted our desires for years. From a shotgun-wielding tomboy in a post-apocalyptic town to a shallow rich girl who found her true self after the loss of her best friend, the five following characters have been selected for their ability to remain by their boyfriends’ sides no matter how dire the circumstance—and this is television, so things are pretty damn dire, like, all the time

Who: Donna Pinciotti

From: That ‘70s Show (1998-2006)

Why: Donna is the literal girl next door and that chill girlfriend who is totally cool with lounging in your basement for the weekend. She may not be the hottest—that was Jackie’s job—but her laidback demeanor made her that rare breed of woman who, no matter how strong the friendship, you still wanted to sleep with. All five guys in the series have harboured sexual feelings for Donna; four of which had romantic feelings for her (Eric, Hyde, Casey, Randy). This tall glass of ginger with a penchant for plaid dated Eric Forman for six seasons until they split due to Eric “taking that stupid job” in the show’s seventh season. In the end of the series however, Eric returns to Point Place (their hometown) for New Years, and he and Donna kiss, leading the audience to assume that the IT couple of the faux ‘70s end up happily ever after.
